🥗 Ginisang Sayote

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 4 clove 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pc 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 pc 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 150 g 150g ground pork or 150g shrimp, peeled and chopped
- 3 pc 3 medium sayote (chayote), peeled and julienned
- 2 tbsp 2 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
- 0.25 cup 1/4 cup carrots, julienned (optional)
- 3 pinch salt and pepper to taste
- 0.5 tsp Pepper, to taste
- 1 stalk chopped spring onions for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté garlic, onion, and tomatoes until softened and fragrant.
- Add the ground pork or shrimp and cook until browned or pink, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the julienned sayote and carrots (if using), and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Season with fish sauce, then pour in water or broth.
- Cover and simmer for 5-8 minutes until sayote is tender but still slightly crisp.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
