Ingredients
- 3 pc 3 medium cucumbers, sliced thin
- 3 pc 3 medium tomatoes, sliced into wedges
- 1 pc 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 0.3333 cup 1/3 cup white or cane vinegar
- 3 pinch 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- 1 tbsp 1 tbsp cooking oil (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the cucumbers and tomatoes thoroughly, then slice the cucumbers into thin rounds and the tomatoes into wedges.
- Place the sliced cucumbers in a colander, sprinkle with a little salt, and let sit for 10 minutes to draw out excess water; pat dry.
- In a large bowl, combine the cucumbers, tomatoes, and sliced onion.
- In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, and oil (if using) to make the dressing.
- Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss gently to coat evenly.
- Let the salad marinate in the refrigerator for at least 10-15 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
- Serve cold as a refreshing side dish to grilled or fried Filipino main courses.
