Special OccasionDairy
Ingredients
- 1.75 kg Cooked/cured ham (bone-in or boneless), whole or half
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 0.25 cup Pineapple juice
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Mustard
- 0.25 cup Butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern and stud with whole cloves if desired.
- Place the ham on a roasting rack in a baking dish, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 45 minutes to warm through.
- Meanwhile, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, honey, mustard, and melted butter in a saucepan. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes until syrupy, to make the glaze.
- Remove foil from the ham and brush generously with the glaze.
- If desired, arrange pineapple slices and cherries on the surface, securing with toothpicks.
- Return the ham to the oven, uncovered, and bake for another 20-30 minutes, basting with glaze every 10 minutes, until the surface is caramelized and glossy.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm or at room temperature as a holiday centerpiece dish.
