Ingredients
- 0.5 kg 500g tuna belly or tuna steaks, grilled or boiled and flaked
- 1 pc Medium red onion, finely chopped
- 3.5 pc Pieces green finger chili, finely chopped
- 2.5 pc Pieces red chili (siling labuyo), chopped (adjust to taste)
- 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Calamansi juice
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 pc Egg (optional, for topping)
- 3 pinch Salt, to taste
- 0.5 tsp Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Grill or pan-sear the tuna belly until cooked through, then let cool slightly and flake or chop into small pieces, discarding bones and skin.
- Heat butter in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until slightly softened.
- Add the flaked tuna and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with soy sauce, calamansi juice, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the chopped green and red chilies for heat and color.
- Remove from heat and fold in the mayonnaise until well combined and creamy.
- Transfer to a sizzling plate if available, and top with a raw or fried egg if desired.
- Serve immediately while hot, with calamansi wedges on the side and rice.
