🐟 Sizzling Bangus

Ingredients
- 1 kg Bangus belly (bangus panga or belly cuts), cleaned
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp Calamansi juice
- 2 tbsp 3 tbsp cooking oil, for frying
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 pc Medium onion, sliced into rings
- 2 pc Medium tomatoes, diced
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Calamansi juice (for sauce)
- 1 tbsp Cooking oil, for the sizzling plate
Instructions
- Season the bangus belly with salt, pepper, and calamansi juice, and let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the bangus belly for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.
- In a separate pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Add the onion and tomatoes, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Stir in soy sauce and calamansi juice, and simmer briefly to combine into a light sauce.
- Heat a sizzling plate with a little oil until very hot.
- Place the fried bangus belly on the hot sizzling plate and immediately pour the butter-calamansi sauce with onions and tomatoes over it.
- Serve immediately while sizzling, with steamed rice.
