Ingredients
- 1 kg Large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 8 cloves Garlic, minced
- 3.5 pc Pieces red chili (siling labuyo), chopped, or 1 tbsp chili flakes
- 2 tbsp Calamansi juice or lemon juice
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 3 pinch Salt, to taste
- 0.5 tsp Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the garlic until fragrant and just starting to turn golden.
- Add the chopped chili and sauté for 30 seconds to release its heat and aroma.
- Increase heat to medium-high and add the shrimp in a single layer.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Add soy sauce, calamansi juice, and sugar, tossing to coat the shrimp evenly in the garlicky-buttery sauce.
- Cook for another minute until the sauce slightly thickens and clings to the shrimp.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or spring onions and serve immediately with rice.
