🥩 Beef Tapa
ModerateSoy
Ingredients
- 1 kg 1 kg beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 0.5 cup 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 0.25 cup 1/4 cup calamansi juice or vinegar
- 6 clove 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 pinch 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp 3 tbsp cooking oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, calamansi juice, minced garlic, brown sugar, pepper, and salt to make the marinade.
- Add beef slices to the marinade, mixing well to coat evenly, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the beef strips in batches, reserving excess marinade, until browned and cooked through, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- If desired, add a splash of the reserved marinade to the pan during the last minute of cooking and let it reduce into a glaze.
- Serve hot with garlic fried rice (sinangag) and a fried egg for a classic tapsilog.
