Ingredients
- 2 tbsp 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 4 clove 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pc 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 pc 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 200 g 200g ground pork or 200g shrimp, peeled and chopped
- 1 pc 1 medium upo (bottle gourd), peeled and sliced into half-moons
- 2 tbsp 2 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
- 3 pinch salt and pepper to taste
- 0.5 tsp Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté garlic, onion, and tomatoes until fragrant and softened, mashing tomatoes slightly.
- Add the ground pork and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. If using shrimp, add it after the pork is nearly done and cook until pink.
- Season with fish sauce and stir to combine.
- Add the sliced upo and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it starts to soften.
- Pour in water, cover, and simmer for 8-10 minutes until upo is tender and translucent.
- Uncover and simmer a few more minutes to reduce excess liquid if needed.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
